Ovation Fertility™ has added Texas Fertility Center’s San Antonio IVF laboratory to its nationwide network of IVF and genetics labs. With this acquisition – the fourth in 12 months – the Ovation network expands to serve nine nationwide markets.
Ovation Fertility™ has announced the acquisition of a second Texas Fertility Center IVF laboratory, San Antonio IVF. Ovation Fertility is a national network of IVF labs, genetics labs and partner physician practices committed to applying leading-edge treatment through the hands and minds of the world’s foremost experts. This addition to Ovation’s nationwide network of IVF laboratories is the fourth in 12 months, and San Antonio is now the ninth U.S. market served by an Ovation IVF lab.
The Ovation Fertility Austin laboratory, also started by Texas Fertility Center, was sold to Ovation shortly after the company’s founding in 2015. Both the Austin and San Antonio laboratories are led by Matthew “Tex” VerMilyea, PhD, HCLD, Ovation Fertility laboratory director, and Kaylen Silverberg, MD, Ovation Fertility medical director.

The San Antonio IVF laboratory provides embryology, andrology and fertility preservation services to support IVF treatment performed by Texas Fertility Center’s San Antonio-based physicians, Erica Munch, M.D., and Susan Hudson, M.D., as well as for other referring fertility and urology specialists and OBGYNs. The state-of-the-art laboratory, and the adjacent surgery center managed by Methodist Hospital, adhere to evidence-based standards for world-class IVF laboratories. This is evidenced by the very high pregnancy rates and very low multiple pregnancy rates produced by the program. As San Antonio IVF’s expert team of scientists become Ovation employees, they also gain access to the collaborative research and resources available exclusively through Ovation Fertility.
