How Did You Get Into Your Line of Work?
I have an MBA with an accountancy concentration, and I’ve spent time working in public accounting, investment banking and healthcare. I’ve seen a little bit of everything but working in healthcare is my passion.
As soon as I got into the healthcare space, it was easy to see that this is my niche because everyone is focused on the same goal of providing the best care and experience for the patient.
What’s an Average Day Like for You?
My job keeps me very busy, and I love that about my work. I get to work on a variety of different projects revolving around finance every day. As the director of finance, I work alongside Ovation CFO Goldie Gupta and Ovation Controller Sossy Ourfalian with regards to all aspects of the company financials. A primary duty I have is to prepare financial statements, reports and forecasts to Ovation’s president, CEO, board of directors and private equity partners. I am also responsible for producing quarterly forecasts and yearly budgets for all locations as well as performing quantitative analysis on business mix, rates, and volume. I also assist each business unit director to address measurable financial metrics and evaluate market trends.
What’s Your Favorite Part of Working for Ovation?
Being a part of Ovation is great because I get to work with like-minded individuals. Everyone is passionate about providing the best patient care possible to people who need help starting or growing their families.
I love that working for Ovation means that I constantly keep learning new things. Fertility care is always changing as our scientists make discoveries and create new treatments. It’s fascinating to talk to all the bright individuals who work here, and it’s amazing to see how far the field has come in just the last 10 to 20 years. Additionally, I’m excited about where the future will take us in terms of fertility.
Why Is Ovation’s Work So Important?
Most people have no way of knowing that they’ll have trouble conceiving, so it comes as a shock when they aren’t able to get pregnant. Ovation is here to help individuals and couples solve a problem that they likely never thought they would have. Our team helps patients accomplish their goal of having a family and to say I am a small part of this is very meaningful.
What Do You Like To Do Outside of Work?
I have a couple of things that I refer to as my “de-stressors.” I’m a competitive golfer, so I enjoy spending time on the golf course. I also love spending time with my family, friends and dogs when I’m not working.
