Meet the New Lab Director for Ovation’s Texas Labs, Dr. Khalied Kaskar
Dr. Khalied Kaskar, Laboratory Director for Texas Labs Our labs are at the heart of everything we do at Ovation® Fertility, and we have big news to share about our IVF and andrology labs in Texas.
Dr. Tex VerMilyea will be focusing exclusively on his work as the vice president of scientific advancement for Ovation. As a result, Khalied Kaskar, PhD, HCLD will be taking over to serve as the laboratory director for Ovation Fertility Austin and Ovation Fertility San Antonio as well as our andrology labs in New Braunfels, Round Rock and South Austin.
Like Dr. VerMilyea, Dr. Kaskar has an extensive background in the field and offers a global perspective on assisted reproductive technology, thanks to his work in South Africa, Saudi Arabia and the United States.
The newest addition to the Ovation team earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in physiology as well as his PhD in medical bioscience from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa.
While in South Africa, Dr. Kaskar worked as a researcher to develop a computerized method for measuring sperm motility. He then moved to Saudi Arabia where he helped set up an IVF laboratory in the National Guard Hospital before moving to the United States.
During the next phase of his career, Dr. Kaskar worked as an embryologist in Kentucky and then Texas. Before joining Ovation as the laboratory director of our Texas labs, he held the position of IVF laboratory manager and later IVF laboratory director for the Family Fertility Center at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Our leadership team is thrilled to have Dr. Kaskar bring his experience to Ovation, as we believe he will support our purpose of bringing the joy of parenthood through innovative science, while also helping to solidify Ovation’s position as a premier destination for laboratory services.
Ovation leaders aren’t the only ones who are excited for Dr. Kaskar to take the helm in our Texas labs. Our new laboratory director is equally enthusiastic about becoming a part of Ovation.
