Aaron Harutunian, Director of Business Development
Aaron Harutunian is a member of the Ovation® Fertility senior management team, bringing to the organization a decade of experience in reproductive genomics and IVF. After an early career of building high-performing preimplantation genetic labs and business development teams around the world, his top priority is to grow Ovation Fertility’s Genetics, Donor Services and Storage service lines.
Prior to joining Ovation, he served as the director of business development and corporate accounts for CooperSurgical, where he was responsible for identifying and securing new business deals, managing key accounts and supporting new product launches.
Mr. Harutunian built his early career in reproductive genetic health at Genesis Genetics, starting in 2008 when he worked in the lab and performed some of the first aCGH preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) cases in the world. In 2013, he became director of business development and a managing partner for Genesis Genetics, which was then acquired by CooperSurgical in 2016. In this role, he was responsible for executive clinical sales, supporting the regional sales teams, strategic product planning, marketing and executing sales for 16 laboratories worldwide.
A recipient of multiple scholarships and awards, Mr. Harutunian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nutritional sciences from Michigan State University, where he worked as a laboratory technician and research scholar, honing his laboratory skills while participating in a NIH grant-funded research project to better understand the function of vitamin A during early embryonic development and cardiovascular formation.
Among his many professional affiliations, Mr. Harutunian is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the European Society of Human Reproductive Embryology (ESHRE), the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS) and the UCSD IVF & Embryo Transfer Conference. He is also a manager of the American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB), sits on the advisory board for the Lending Club and has served as a speaker at the Southwest Embryology Summit (SWES) and the Southern California Assisted Reproductive Biologists (SCARB).
In addition to his frequent nationwide travels to visit fertility clinics and laboratories, Mr. Harutunian enjoys fishing, being outdoors and spending time with friends and family.
