Mili Thakur MD is a Grand Rapids fertility doctor who believes in providing compassionate and personalized fertility care to her patients. She has a deep passion for creating customized treatment plans for her patients so that they get the care they need to achieve their family-building goals.

She realizes that it isn’t always easy to become a parent. Sometimes, infertility makes it difficult to conceive or carry a pregnancy. In other cases, a genetic disorder could present an obstacle on the path to have a healthy baby. Dr. Thakur walks with each of her patients to help them overcome whatever roadblocks they might be facing on the path to parenthood.

She attended medical school at Government Medical College and Hospital in Chandigarh, India. There, she was named the best graduate of her medical school class. After medical school, she completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India.

Upon moving to the United States, Mili Thakur MD completed a residency program in obstetrics and gynecology at the Wayne State University School of Medicine at Detroit Medical Center. During her time in the program, she received the Arthur G. Seski MD Chairman’s award for overall excellence in obstetrics and gynecology.

She then did a combined fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility and medical genetics at Wayne State University. Dr. Thakur was the first fellow in the United States to graduate with this specialization.

Today, she is board certified in both obstetrics and gynecology and medical genetics and genomics. This gives her special expertise in diagnosing and treating infertility as well as assisting infertility patients who have genetic concerns.

Mili Thakur MD doesn’t want her patients to feel alone, so she prides herself on being a listener and a source of support for hopeful parents. She also provides the latest, evidence-based information about fertility treatments in a way that patients can easily understand.

Dr. Thakur helps patients overcome a wide variety of infertility causes. She has a special interest in the following areas of reproductive medicine.

• Fertility preservation in the form of egg and embryo freezing
• Ultrasonography
• Hysteroscopic procedures to diagnose and treat infertility

Dr. Thakur is fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
