Stephen Roland, Vice President of Operations

Based in Charleston, South Carolina, Stephen Roland serves as Ovation’s vice president of operations for the Eastern region of the country, working with Ovation labs and facilities and helping Ovation’s lab directors align their operations with Ovation’s business objectives. He also works closely with Ovation partner physicians, their fertility center teams and other referral sources, helping to ensure that Ovation services meet the needs of providers and patients.

Roland joined Ovation in April 2022, bringing 14 years of experience in healthcare operations and business development across multiple specialties, including fertility care. Most recently, he served as regional operations director for DaVita Kidney Care, where he provided operational oversight for 19 dialysis facilities.

Earlier in his career, he was a market operations manager for East Cooper Medical Center, part of Tenet Healthcare. In this role, he managed day-to-day operations of an employed provider network consisting of 12 practices and 48 providers, with a primary focus on the women’s healthcare service line. Before being promoted to market operations, he served as the practice development manager responsible for business development, marketing and community outreach.

Stephen also has prior experience in the fertility care field, having worked as practice development manager in the Charleston area for more than three years after joining IntegraMed America as a consumer services key account manager. As a key account manager, he maintained relationships with fertility practices across a 10-state region.

An Eagle Scout and Coast Guard certified master boat captain, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, with a minor in biology, from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina.
