Amy Schutt MD makes parenthood possible as an Austin fertility doctor

Amy Schutt MD is an Austin fertility doctor who feels it’s an honor to help patients overcome infertility and bring home a healthy baby. To help patients become parents, Dr. Schutt takes time to get to know each patient. She then creates a customized fertility treatment plan to address their family-building needs and goals.

As a reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Schutt provides effective and affordable care to the people she diagnoses and treats. Patients can come to her for services ranging from IVF and preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) to third party reproduction and fertility preservation. Dr. Schutt also provides access to first-line treatments, such as fertility medications and intrauterine insemination (IUI).

This Austin fertility doctor can diagnose and treat all causes of female and male infertility. However, Amy Schutt MD is especially passionate about treating patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), providing LGBTQ fertility care and offering fertility preservation services.

Amy Schutt MD graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in biology. She then completed medical school at the Texas Tech University School of Medicine. Dr. Schutt then completed an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Virginia Health System. There, she served as chief resident.

After her residency, Dr. Schutt completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) and a Master of Science in clinical investigation at Baylor College of Medicine.

Once she completed her fellowship, this Austin fertility doctor stayed on faculty at Baylor College of Medicine for six years. In addition to helping hundreds of patients build their families, she helped educate the doctors of tomorrow as the REI Fellowship Program Director.

While treating her patients is Dr. Schutt’s biggest passion, she also performs research to improve fertility care for all. Her research has examined topics ranging from insulin resistance in patients with PCOS to postnatal depression in infertility patients.

Amy Schutt MD is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the Texas Medical Association.
