
Medical Director George Hill, M.D., Provides Expert Leadership and Care at Nashville Fertility Center
In 1990, George Hill, M.D., founded Nashville Fertility Center. Along with Christine Whitworth, M.D., Dr. Hill has directed the assisted reproductive technology program since its opening in the fall of 1991. Today, Dr. Hill serves as the medical director of Nashville Fertility Center and has extended his reach to a nationwide infertility patient base as an Ovation Fertility™ Nashville partner physician.
Commitment to Academic Excellence
Dr. Hill attended medical school at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine after graduating with a degree in biology from the University of Tennessee. During his time in school, Dr. Hill received numerous honors, including membership in Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and the Mosby Scholastic Achievement Award.
Dr. Hill completed his internship and residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He then moved to Nashville to complete a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Vanderbilt University. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Hill went on to serve as an assistant professor at Vanderbilt University’s Center for Fertility and Reproductive Research.
While at Vanderbilt, Dr. Hill developed expertise in laparoscopic and reconstructive surgery in women. He also gained proficiency in all assisted reproductive technologies, including in vitro fertilization (IVF), gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) and zygote intrafallopian transfer (ZIFT).

Dr. Hill is highly respected in the scientific community. Physician peers have recently selected him as one of the best physicians in Nashville. In addition, Dr. Hill has been awarded grants for research and treatment of endometriosis, and he has investigated new agents for ovulation induction in patients undergoing IVF.
Dr. Hill is the past treasurer of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and serves on several committees with The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He has published numerous articles on all aspects of infertility and has presented research papers and lectures at professional association meetings throughout the world.
Dr. Hill was born in Knoxville and grew up in Milan, a small town in West Tennessee, where he was awarded the Boy Scouts of America’s highest honor—The Eagle Scout award. As a father of three, Dr. Hill understands the joys of being a parent.
