Thomas Vaughn, MD, First Austin Physician to Provide Hope for Fertility through IVF

The founder of Austin’s first In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Program at St. David’s Hospital, Dr. Thomas Vaughn is a leader in infertility services and is now the practice director of Texas Fertility Center and Ovation Fertility in Austin and San Antonio.

After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Vaughn earned his medical degree and performed his obgyn residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Immediately afterward, he accepted a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Vaughn is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, as well as reproductive endocrinology/infertility.

In Addition to IVF, Dr. Vaughn’s Training Includes Reconstructive Gynecological Surgery

Dr. Vaughn continues to share his knowledge with others in advanced reproductive medicine. He serves as a clinical assistant professor for the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

Dr. Vaughn is a charter member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s Assisted Reproductive Technologies, Reproductive Endocrinologists and Reproductive Surgeons societies. He also is an active member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as the Charles B. Hammond Society. His peers and patients have chosen him for Top Doctor™, Top Obstetrician/Gynecologist, Texas Super Doctor™ and Patient’s Choice awards. He also received the Physician Recognition Award from the American Medical Association. When he’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Vaughn serves on the board of directors’ executive committee for The Austin Symphony Society.
