Kristin Van Heertum, MD, is an Ovation® Fertility referring physician and Nashville fertility doctor with extensive training in reproductive medicine and fertility surgery. Dr. Van Heertum has a wealth of knowledge about diagnosing and treating the complex causes of infertility. One of her areas of clinical focus is the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). She is also passionate about performing fertility surgery. In fact, she received training in advanced surgical techniques, including minimally invasive and robotic surgery.

Dr. Van Heertum earned her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. She then did her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health in Abington, Pennsylvania.
She decided to become a fertility doctor because she gets to work closely with patients to perform the rewarding work of helping them grow their families. She completed her training with a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University.
This respected fertility doctor has written several articles that have been published in peer-reviewed journals. She has also performed research that has been presented at national meetings.
Dr. Van Heertum is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society and the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
