Paul Kappelman, MHA, Chief Executive Officer

Grounded by a deep understanding of the healthcare continuum and the healthcare ecosystem, Chief Executive Officer Paul Kappelman believes in creating successful outcomes by engaging people and focusing on culture, quality infrastructure, excellent outcomes and customer service. He is committed to creating not just excellent scientific and financial outcomes for Ovation’s internal and external customers, but also strong physician, patient, community and partner relationships.

Kappelman joined Ovation® Fertility in August 2021, after serving as executive vice president and chief operating officer for Nashville-based Ardent Health Services. In that role, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations and operational improvement of the company’s hospitals, outpatient centers, healthcare facilities and physician practices.

Prior to joining Ardent in 2017, Kappelman served as interim CEO and former president of hospital operations for LHP Hospital Group, Inc. Earlier in his career, he was CEO at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona, and at Oro Valley Hospital, Tucson, where he led the development of the brand-new hospital from the ground up.

In a healthcare administrative and executive career spanning 25 years, he has developed significant experience with joint venture and private equity partnerships, growing and scaling companies, developing operating platforms, leading nationwide healthcare organizations, and mergers and acquisitions.

A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Kappelman earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Health Administration from Tulane University.
